Comps for Paintings I plan on doing… or maybe not.

January 31st, 2006 in illustration + digital + oddities + concepts + designs

Hi there!
These are some comps for a commission I was offered by Mike Niven Interior Design…but the commission ended up falling through at the last minute. Booo.. So now i have all these comps (and this isn’t all of them)
I still would like to paint one of them just cause…or maybe a few of them.. or.. all of them!!
I don’t know which ones though. maybe you could help..

Also, while I’ve been known to paint just about anything.. I’m not too sure about how to go about doing some of these, as far as method and medium. I almost for sure want them on canvas.. really BIG. They were designed for a 4 foot by 6 foot canvas..

How would you go about painting the brown one?… lots of masking and semi transparent layers of paint.. i would think..
and the one that looks like a circuit board.. any thoughts on how you would paint that?

It’s cool to see all you guys on here! thanks Rob for crating this great forum/blog that brings us all together again.

A little bit of recent tomfoolery

December 13th, 2005 in illustration + digital + designs

I like this, but the building on the lower right brings it down a bit.. I should redraw that better and composite it in. The white text is good but I might like to try some different bits of copy for that part. Maybe “the monotony of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind” by Albert Einstien

Isn\'t it PUNDERFUL? Argh. I make myself sick sometimes.

So this is my first post. Hope you think it’s PUNDERFUL. I should be doing homework right now, but instead I’m moving back and forth between messing around with this blog-thing and playing Leisure Suit Larry 2. Darned KGB!
